Nadi Findikli has 28 years of engineering experience with 21 years in the telecommunications industry. He has worked as a hardware engineer, software engineer, systems engineer, requirements architect and manager. He has managed systems and verification teams working on early 3G data devices and Windows and Android smart phones. He has worked as a requirements architect on cellular phones and early EDGE and 3G wireless data devices.
Nadi started in the automotive industry successfully launching vehicle control, voice recognition and user interface products. He started his career in the telecommunications industry as a Software Developer for public safety radio system networks. He developed software for cellular phones and migrated to systems engineering and requirements management. For many years he developed and managed requirements for wireless data cards, cellular phones and smartphones as well as manage groups performing these functions. He also managed systems and verification groups for smartphones.
Nadi worked on cellular standards for many years in TIA, UWCC, 3GPP and Open Mobile Alliance (OMA). He was instrumental in the development of transitional standards to allow the migration from TDMA to GSM in North America. He holds several patents related to his standards work. Nadi also worked for the CTO office when Sony Ericsson was formed, organizing standards involvement for the new company. He managed the legal, financial and technical aspects of the new memberships. He represented Sony Ericsson during the formation of OMA and served on the Board of Directors of OMA as well as the chair on the Interoperability Group of BoD.
During Nadi’s time at Sony Ericsson, he was heavily involved with patent and IPR activities. He worked with the legal department providing assistance to IP conflicts, patent analysis and infringement assessment. He worked with the patent department as an expert on network access protocols, wireless enablers and technologies. He drove creation of ideas through patent mining exercises, reviewing internal disclosures and mentoring team members. He also served as a member of the Patent Review Board which selected internal disclosures for global submission.
He currently holds 17 US patents with many internal filings based on those, as well as a number of patent applications in progress.
Nadi received an MSEE from Michigan Technological University and BSEE from Bogazici University in Istanbul, Turkey.
Nadi is fluent in English and Turkish.
